Glossary

A

  • AI Crawler

An automated client operated by an AI vendor that requests web content, identified by user agent claim and verified where possible against published address ranges.

  • AI Visibility

Whether AI systems fetch, parse, and use a property. Measured here from observable fetch behavior rather than from citation claims.

  • Authority Signal

An observable indicator that something treats a property as a source, as opposed to an estimated authority score.

B

  • Brand Query

A search for the property or organization by name. The least gameable evidence that attention was held rather than borrowed.

C

  • Commercial Intent

Whether the query behind a visit is attached to a decision somebody is about to make, and therefore to money somebody is about to spend.

  • Content Decay

The gradual loss of traffic and usefulness in published content as the subject moves, competitors publish, and facts age.

  • Crawl Demand

How often and how deeply crawlers request a property, treated as a leading indicator of discovery rather than a ranking factor.

D

  • Dataset Asset

Content published as a consistent structure rather than as a document, so it can be extended, queried, and cited without being rewritten.

  • Digital Property

A website, domain, or connected set of web assets treated as an owned asset with measurable value rather than as a marketing channel.

  • Discovery

Whether machines and people can find a property at all. The second stage of the framework and the one most reporting cannot see.

  • Durability

What a property still produces after publishing and promotion stop. The test that separates an asset from an activity.

E

  • Entity Recognition

Whether a system understands a property as a distinct thing with a subject, rather than as an unclassified collection of pages.

  • Exit Value

What a property would sell for today, which is a function of demonstrated revenue, risk, and transferability rather than of traffic.

I

  • Intent Profile

The distribution of a property's search demand across informational, comparison, and decision-stage queries. A property-level measure, not a keyword one.

L

  • Lead Value

Average deal value multiplied by close rate. Without a measured close rate, a lead count is not a value.

  • Log Evidence

What a raw server request log proves: that a request reached a recorded URL and received a recorded status. Nothing more.

M

  • Machine-Readable Endpoint

A published file stating what a property is and what it contains, in a format a machine can parse without interpreting prose.

  • Monetization Potential

Whether a route exists between the attention a property has and money somebody in that category is already spending.

O

  • Owner Dependency

How much of a property's revenue depends on the current owner personally. The single largest discount applied at sale.

Q

  • Query Surface

The number of distinct queries a property appears for at all, regardless of position. An early discovery signal that moves before clicks do.

R

  • Revenue Multiple

The factor applied to a property's earnings to produce a sale price. Commonly quoted as a multiple of monthly net profit in the brokered market for small sites.

S

  • Search Visibility

The extent to which a property appears in search results for queries it cares about, measured as surface, position distribution, and durability rather than as one number.

  • Seller Discretionary Earnings

Profit with the owner's own compensation and discretionary costs added back, used as the earnings base for valuing an owner-operated property.

T

  • Topical Authority

Whether systems and people treat a property as a source on a subject. Built through depth, consistency, and time rather than assigned by a tool.

  • Traffic Concentration

How much of a property's traffic comes from a single source. High concentration is a risk discount regardless of how good the number looks.

  • Traffic Quality

The composition of traffic rather than its size: intent match, commercial attachment, return behavior, durability, and source concentration.

V

  • Value Creation Score

A planned composite measure of a digital property across five dimensions: discovery, authority, commercial intent, AI visibility, and monetization. It does not exist yet.

  • Value Signal

A single observable measure that indicates something about a property's value, with a named data source and a stated limit.
