Monetization Potential

Also known as: Revenue potential

Whether a route exists between the attention a property has and money somebody in that category is already spending.

Monetization potential asks three things in order: is anyone spending money in this subject, does the property's attention overlap with where that spending happens, and does a route exist that does not degrade the content.

The second question is where most properties fail. There is money in a subject, and the property's demand sits entirely on the definitional side of it, adjacent to the money without touching it.

This is the dimension where a measurement is least trustworthy. Potential is a forecast, and the assumption doing the work is usually a conversion rate nobody has observed. What can be checked honestly is narrower: does intent-carrying traffic exist, does a route exist, does it work, and is the revenue concentrated.
