Structured Data Coverage
Coverage is necessary and not sufficient. A property with a valid graph on every page has removed ambiguity, not earned attention.
- Measures
- Share of published pages emitting a valid schema graph, whether the type matches the page, and whether nodes cross-reference each other rather than sitting as isolated blobs.
- Data Source
- The property's own rendered output.
- Indicates
- Legibility. How much a system is told versus how much it has to infer.
- What Moves It
- One schema engine generating the graph for every page type, rather than per-template markup that drifts.
- Does Not Prove
- Ranking benefit or citation. Valid markup on worthless content is valid markup on worthless content.
- Status
- Measured directly and repeatable at any time.
Two failure modes worth checking separately: markup that is valid but generic (everything declared as WebPage), and markup that describes content the page does not contain.
